The Ragnards

This weekend was awesome. Marc ran in the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back Race. This is a 12 man relay, 181 miles, beginning in Logan and ending in Park City. Ridiculous. Their team was named The Shin Splints and consisted of Marc, Brandon and Kristi, Adam, Chris and Natalie, Jesse and Joni, Amanda, Audrey, Jeff, and Deb. Oh, and Deb's awesome husband who drove one of the vans. Marc's Dad and sister, Anita, also volunteered for the race. They finished the race in 30 hours 59 minutes. I'm so freaking proud and can't wait until next year. Here's some photos of the event.

The whole team ran the last 100 yards to cross the finish line together. Here's Marc and Joni, finishing the race. That's Brandon on the right. (dude, nice legs). Note the time 30:59:33.

Happy Retirement!

On Friday Marc's mom threw a surprise retirement party for Rod, Marc's dad. He has worked for the railroad for 41 years and is retiring in a few weeks. Peggy had planned a really fun party. She had a pig roasted for the occasion, made a video, had guest speakers, and a little performance by the grandkids. It was so much fun, and everyone had a good time. I didn't get too many pictures due to my arms being full of sleeping baby, but here's a couple of shots from the party.
This is Marc helping Molly tell everyone what she loves about Grandpa. All the grandkids told one thing they loved about Grandpa. Then they each put a Hawaiian Lei around his neck.

This is what he looked like after they all had a turn.

Poor piggy. Sure was tasty, though.

We had such a fun time. Peggy spent months planning this thing. And it turned out really great, except for the guest of honor showing up ten minutes early. (Whatever, Rick) No, seriously, Rod was so surprised. You can tell how great of a guy he is by the tons of people that showed up to his party. We love you, and we're so excited for you be able to enjoy your retirement. You deserve it. Oh yeah, and a little trip to Hawaii would be nice. :)

Expecto Patronum!

Marc and I were talking about what our patronus' would be. Any Harry Potter fans out there? We decided that Marc's patronus would be a worm, Slimey from Sesame Street to be exact.

My patronus is a tick. (Well, THE Tick)

Dementors are quaking in their robes.

So, your assignment is to post a comment and let us know what you think your patronus would be. Or you can tell us what you think our patronus' should be if you don't agree with us.

I'm a big idiot

So, Marc's sister Anita has been married for what, 4 or 5 years? Since she got married her last name has been Thomas, not Bybee. I have had her listed in my Family and Friends as Adam and Anita Bybee. Hello?!?! Sorry Nita.
