Doobs

This kid has more nicknames than fat rolls on her thighs. She is now 18 months old. Here's what Ruby is all about:

Weight: 23 lbs 14 oz (44%)
Height: 32 in (81%)
She loves giving hugs and kisses, abolutely adores her Grandpa (just mention him and she'll freak out and start looking around for him), likes reading books, can say almost 50 words, pulls hair and bites, is very silly, likes riding in her car and jumping on the tramp, still has two enormous two front teeth that, thankfully, her face is growing into, is an absolute fish when it comes to playing in the water, has numerous nicknames, Ruby Doobey, Doobs, Boobs, Reuben, Reubenstien, Steiner, Booby, Roob, Doobey Doo, Captain Fatty, and lots of others that come flying out when she's about to do something crazy. We love her.

Happy Birthday Molly!

4 years ago I became a Mom. One of the most wonderful days of my life. Yesterday was Molly's birthday. We celebrated by having a birthday party with friends and family. It was so fun. As a four year old Molly has had like three haircuts her entire life (her hair does not grow), enjoys reading books, can recognize and "read" 6 or 7 words by sight, can write her name, sometimes spells her name Mooooolllllly so that she can have her letter family (See below regarding families), loves her little sister Ruby, loves chewing on her little sister's feet (I know, it's weird), loves helping me set the table, makes "families" of anything and everything- cups, spoons, shoes, pictures of sheep, dead flowers, anything. . . , she loves her Sunbeam class and her teachers, Sister Wilson and Sister Chappell, keeps us laughing with her wicked dance moves, keeps us cringing with her spit and vinegar attitude, and keeps us loving her with her zany, loving personality. We love being parents to this little wackadoodle. We love you Molly! Happy Birthday!

For the record: Height 41.5 inches (84%)

Weight 36 lbs (59%)

And, Voila!

Now I just need to convince her to wear it. She doesn't like it. If only Marc used to own something pink with flowers.

The best idea ever

I'm thinking about attempting this. I'm in awe that someone would even come up with something so clever.

Zucchini Bread and a Birfday

First of all, 29 wonderful years ago Mr. Marc Ephrem Bybee was born. Happy Birfday!
My neighbors brought over some zucchini for us straight out of their garden. So, we made zucchini bread.
Me: Hey Molly, did you like that zucchini bread?
Molly: (imagine her pointer finger in the air, acting like a professor) Yes, but I have one question to say. Does this mean that I get to sleep in your bed?
Me: Huh?

Jensen Family Reunion

A few years ago my parents decided that we were all old enough that we needed to have a family reunion every year. Just us- my parents, the kids, and grandkids. It's been really fun. This year did not disappoint. We stayed in a cabin in Duck Creek, UT. We played in the river, shot guns, rode bikes, caught frogs, played a little Rock Band, climbed into an ice cave, surfed the Web, Sheldon talked Marc into and out of about three guns, paid 8 bucks to walk 50 feet and look at Cedar Breaks (we could have seen the same thing from the road for absolutely free), and ate some good food. It was so fun. We had a great time with everyone!

Requests from a three year old

Mom, can I have some Lucky Charms? But I don't want cereal or milk.
Mom, can you change my green dress into a swimming suit with your magic wand?
Mom, can we take the lid off our car? (we don't have a convertible)

Mom, can I have a toy from the store? I won't bite Ruby's feet anymore.
